How I make them…

I build handmade slotcar tracks from MDF.

Baseboards are glued and screwed and routed tracks are made from a minimum 12.5mm MDF board.

Pictured below is work in progress. This MDF board is framed in 2×1″ underneath and the slot has been routed out ready for paint and tape. This particular layout is 4x2ft.

Slot car layouts come with or without scenery and are ALL analogue tracks. Scenery levels are based on budget as building scenery for rail or slot is the most time consuming part of the build.

Demonstration Layout

To make the scenery I use either foam boards, foam or plaster bandage dependant on setting to create the contour. This is then painted in a ground colour before varying grasses and foliage are applied.

Trees for scenery are either hand made or realistic manufactured trees.

All layouts are hand built, so you can simply purchase one of our stock ready designed layouts or have yourself a bespoke layout built to your specification.

The tracks come with a power wall socket, controllers as standard (these are basic Scalextric items) and we can even supply cars at an extra cost, these are typically around £35 each and are new.

I can create double sided tracks for even more enjoyment and with a flick of a switch you suddenly have 4 layouts, though depending upon the size of the layout, can be very heavy.
