Neil – Owner of Kirsten Halt

I have now been running my new 10′ x 8′ DCC layout for the last couple of months since Simon finished the custom build. It is a marvellous piece of work – the modelling and electronics craftsmanship is truly amazing. The whole process has been first rate – from the initial contact with Simon, his design suggestions, keeping me up to date with what was happening and the delivery and after sales process. My layout actually sits as part of our living area – the finish and the legs on which it sits are such that it is now a feature of the house and not something that is just kept in a spare room out of sight. The track is laid beautifully to provide a smooth running surface for the locos. The attention to detail with the modelling is something to behold – I continue to find little touches that give an indication of the attention to detail. Simon has placed lighting in really clever places which gives the layout a wonderful feel in the dark or twilight setting. He also introduced me to the Z21 DCC controller which has been an absolute delight – if you are looking at DCC you should seriously consider the Z21 system – operating your trains from an iPad is wonderful! There were a few minor niggles after the initial settling period and it was not an issue for Simon to travel back to see me and fix the things up – it says a lot about how he feels about customer service. If you are in the market for a beautifully built custom layout, then you should go no further than Simon at Bespoke Trax

Tony, owner of Kipling Park – AKA Moberly Road TMD!

My new DCC layout Kipling Park was delivered by Bespoke Trax and to say I was blown away with the attention to detail and the quality of that detail would be an understatement. The design and finish of the layout was indeed exhibition quality and Simon has a real eye for detail to bring a layout to life. From the start of my process to the delivery Simon was able to accommodate every change that I required, even during the build process, and my overall experience with the services of Bespoke Trax was absolutely A+.

Extension to Moberly Road

I had used Bespoke Trax services previously to construct a layout which was unquestionably to exhibition standards. The fiddle yard that was associated with the original layout was then to some degree incorporated into the scenery by myself. Once a little more space was permissible at home I gave Simon the difficult tasks of incorporating an extension to the layout and a separate fiddle yard whilst seeking that the whole layout “be tied” together successfully. This included a small station with working points on the scenic sections and depot lighting etc.I sent Simon a rough layout plan and from that he created an extension to my layout that was simply outstanding both in terms of its usability, by adding to the track plan, and also through its fantastic scenic section where now the transition between the first layout and the extension is probably unnoticeable. On completion Simon spent a number of hours with me making sure that everything worked and talking me through the various matters he had incorporated into the layout – really helpful. I was so impressed with Simon’s services first time that I decided to go nowhere else for the extension and I am so glad I did because in my view, without question, the work of Bespoke Trax is absolutely second to none and the level of service matches that quality. Indeed if you are looking to create your first layout, but want something of exhibition standard, or indeed if you are looking to extend an existing layout then my advice would be to look no further than Simon at Bespoke Trax.

It was fantastic to actually meet you Sunday when you delivered my new layout.I am so pleased with the layout – your attention to detail is fantastic and all our dealings since I first said I want a oo scale layout, 14 foot by 7 foot. After a couple of discussions I sent a plan from a standard track design and a few scribbled comments then you carefully took me through getting more detail, like what era and we settled on a half and half layout one from the early 60s and the other half late seventies / early 80s.
Throughout the build, you kept me regularly updated with photos and progress and checking things as I wanted them,  then the care you took making sure the layout was fitted in its new home.
Every time I look and use the layout I see the magnificent detail you have put into the finished product, each part telling its own story.
Thank you so much for your hard work and dedication to the works.
GMI could not recommend the services of Bespoke Trax highly enough and if you are seeking your own exhibition standard layout, which with Simon’s help you can very much make your own, I would look no further.

Three weeks (I think – lost track* of time!)

I’ve got to say, I’m still as impressed as I was on D-Day, and wanted to leave you some comments to add to the website etc. Firstly, I’d like to commend your work. There are still little touches that I’m noticing now, and I’ve always felt that to be the mark of an excellent layout. You’ve mastered the everyday working site feel, as opposed to just clumping together cameos, and as such the layout has managed to lend itself nicely to a couple of different running eras (pictures and videos when the stock is in a fit state – need to break out the weathering powders and soldering iron over winter!)Secondly, I’d like to commend your business practices. You managed to be attentive without being pushy, and your communication throughout the process was superb. I always felt like I knew where the layout was and in a position to discuss any issues if they had arisen (happily we didn’t have any!) Finally, just a massive thumbs up for you as a bloke. Delivery day was far smoother than I had dared hope, and your building experience definitely helped with what was a very tight fit. Moreover, you’re a thoroughly pleasant guy, and what could’ve been quite a fractious hour actually felt more like spending time at an exhibition appreciating the hobby with a mate (which has sadly been plucked from us this year!) Having agonised over whether or not I could justify / afford to have a layout built (as opposed to doing it myself, in which case I doubt I’d even be at baseboards yet!) I feel completely vindicated having spent the best part of a month playing trains at Long Ashton. All the best for the future with Bespoke Trax. Happy to sing your praises to anybody who asks!

I came across Simon’s excellent website about 5 months ago in my foray back into Railway Modelling after 35 years! I was super impressed with his already completed layouts, and knew he was the man for my job. I loved his TMDs and other styled layouts similar to my era too. He nailed the brief completely, and kept in regular contact with me, sending me pics, emails and allowing me to have input during the design and build stage. We pre planned the layout for after xmas, and he came in bang on time and drove up to deliver my stunning layout. He listened carefully to what I wanted and truly delivered something beyond my expectations. He is extremely friendly and highly professional – your dreams are in safe hands here!He installed it with no issues and helped teach me some DCC basics and other bits and bobs, thoroughly explained everything to me as a newbie! and helped me with some layout ideas to allow me to develop my scenic ideas to complete myself.I cannot recommend Simon and his team enough, and will certainly be using him again for my extension to Greensleeves Way TMD!
many thanks

Martin – owner of Georges Halt (basic layout No2)

I took delivery from Simon of my “basic” layout which we managed to get up the staircase with ease into the loft room where it now resides. During the process of the build, I was able to ask questions and get recommendations, which I really appreciated.
The layout is of the highest quality and exceptional attention to detail. It consists of a double track with points and sidings and a parcel depot. I was most impressed with the electrical work which mostly was hidden underneath, but easily accessible. I wanted the era between steam and the start of diesel and the layout splendidly set that out. Simon provided 1/76 scale motor cars too, there are sheep on the hills and appropriate farm buildings, which I call bothies. The vegetation is spot on and the hills and trees are very realistic. The legs supporting the layout, I chose chrome but other options were available. The finish on the edge of the layout is in an unobtrusive grey. There’s plenty of room, too, for additional items which I can add in the future. He provided a Bachmann EZ controller which is ideal for beginners like me. I would strongly recommend Simon and his model layout building to anyone. A great way to get into model railways, if you don’t have the artistic skills or the time to put in. It is a marvellous piece of work – the modelling and electronics craftsmanship is truly amazing. The whole process has been first rate – from the initial contact with Simon, his design suggestions, keeping me up to date with what was happening and the delivery and after sales process.
